  • Decimals - Story Problems - provides some story problems to help to illustrate the everyday use of decimals, clarifying for students how and when decimals need to be applied. A rubric is provided for scoring the problems.
  • Equivalent Fractions - students will use visuals to model equivalent fractions, using story problem situations and spreadsheets to illustrate their processes
  • Integer Sequences - students will study sequences to determine their patterns and rules; problems become more difficult as this lesson plan progresses. As students gain experience, they will be challenged with the Fibonacci Sequence.   • Interactive Mathematics Miscellany and Puzzles - site features a wide variety of mathematical applications and puzzles. A great source to pique students' interest in mathematics or help an instructor to build motivating applications to their lessons. Teachers will want to check out the interactive message board, a place where educators can ask math questions related to the site and mathematics education in general.

  • EdHelper.com - worksheets for many grade levels (some of the worksheets are free some are available with a subscription $19.97 per year). You can also create your own worksheet (free) with the various worksheet generators
  • Discovery School's Webmath - students can click on a problem solver, enter a math problem and click for an explanation of how it's done. Better yet, students will be able to read an explanation of how to solve the problem
  • Education Place Mathematics - materials correlate to the PreK-2, Grades 3-5 levels
  • Math Activities To Do With Your Children - home learning activities from the CPB/Annenberg Project which could be used at school or for home activities
  • An Introduction to Fractions - the concept of fractions is introduced through a story telling format. Worksheets are also available at this site
  • Fractions Math Tutor - features explanations on fractions and decimals, with conversion from each to percentages--often a problematic area for students
  • Positive and Negative Bean Toss - this activity will help students undertand the concept of positive and negative numbers
